IB ACIO Salary 2024 and Pay Scale

Intelligence Bureau (Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA)) has advertised for 997 Assistant Central Intelligence Officer (ACIO) posts Recently. Selection of candidates is done through a Two tier written test and interview to determine eligibility for these posts. Those who qualify all stages of recruitment will get selected.

Pay Scale

Upon new appointment, the pay scale of IB ACIO posts is Rs. 44900-142400 as per Level 7 of 7th Central Pay Commission plus admissible allowances. This is equivalent to 9300-34800 Grade Pay 4600 of 6th CPC.

IB ACIO Salary structure 2024

  • Pay Scale: 7th CPC Level 7 Rs. 44900-142400
  • Starting Basic Pay: Rs. 44900 per month
  • Last Basic pay of these posts: 142400
  • Total Salary in starting: Around Rs. 85000-95000 per month
  • Deductions: NPS Rs. 6286 + taxes = around Rs. 7000
  • Net Salary = Rs. 78000-88000 per month

Allowances

Rate of Dearness Allowance (DA) Currently – 46% from July 2023

House Rent Allowance (HRA) – as per city type (27% for Class X (Metro) city, 18% for Class Y city, 9% for Class Z city)

Special Security Allowance (SSA): 20% of basic pay i.e. Rs. 20654

Children Education Allowance

Transport Allowance:

  • Higher TPTA cities: Rs. 3600 + DA on 3600 = Rs. 5256
  • Other cities : Rs  1800 + DA on 1800 = Rs. 2628

Government contribution towards NPS (@14% of basic pay) = Rs. 6286

Benefits

The promotion of ACIO is time to time. Candidates are given annual increment and Cash compensation for duty on holidays subject to a ceiling of 30 days. The rate of Dearness allowance is currently 46% and it gets revision (mostly increased) every 6 months depending on inflation rate.

Earlier Intelligence Bureau MHA released advertisement for 997 ACIO Grade II Executive posts on direct recruitment from Indian Nationals. These posts are of General Central Service, Group ‘C’ (Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial). Candidates are selected through Tier 1 written test of 100 marks, Tier 2 Descriptive test of 50 marks and Interview of 100 marks.
